Hall of Fame Old Time Baseball Show

Head Up!!!  A quick FYI on what sounds like a fun show put on by the famous Trosky baseball family.  Within the family heritage there are a total of 4 major leaguers and 4 minor leaguers.  Wow!  Look at this family...Bios from their web site: http://troskybaseball.com/NateTFamilyHistory.htm

Grandpa Hal Trosky, one of the greatest Cleveland Indians of all time. Grandpa Hal is recognized today as the best rookie to ever play the game, driving in 137 runs, 35 home runs and a .333 batting average. In 1936, he was on the box of Wheaties Cereal hitting 162 RBI’S, batting 343, with 42 Home Runs. The Trosky bloodline has done something few families have ever done - claim 3 generations of major leaguers in the Chicago White Sox’s Organization. Grandpa Hal finished his 11 th season with The Sox’s; Uncle Hal Trosky Jr. pitched for the Sox’s in 1958; and Cousin Collin Mattiace, was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 39 th round draft pick and is presently the Sox’s physical therapists. Then there is the former major league pitcher, cousin Mike Boddiker, once a 20 game winner for the Baltimore Orioles, and led the American league with wins and ERA in 1994. Cousin Nate Freeze is presently the AAA Chicago Cubs shorts stop, occasionally spending time with the major league club in spring training. Cousin Ian Mattiace, was one of the greatest high school players ever, hitting 23 homeruns and driving in 69 RBI’s his senior season. At the University of Iowa he was an All American, and was offered a Single-A- contract in 2001. Uncle Mick Mattiace pitched with 3 major league organizations, reaching the level of AAA, one of the few players in history to throw a back to back no hitter in the minor leagues. And last but not least there is Nathan Trosky, the co-founder and head trainer at the Trosky Baseball School. Nathan spent 4 years as a player coach in Europe’s professional leagues and 2 years in the states in the minor leagues. Seasonally, when he goes back to Europe to coach with the Croatian Olympic team, he scouts for the Arizona Diamondbacks.
